Summary of Job Duties:

Reporting to the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine (DFPM), Research and Evaluation Division, Assistant Director, the Early Childhood Research Associate will assist in executing grant deliverables by providing evaluation support for multiple early childhood research projects and grants. The Research Associate should be knowledgeable in the content area and be able to facilitate the organized execution of project deliverables and evaluation methods used to determine outcomes of research. This position will be responsible for measuring activity effectiveness and assisting faculty with results dissemination.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of research experience required.

  • A valid driver's license and HOC travel within the state of Arkansas is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing research program evaluation protocols. This will include both qualitative and quantitative design and analysis. Most of the work in this position will contribute to the qualitative study of research questions.

  • Work on multiple projects and programs related to early childhood development and early childhood education. Strong knowledge of the research setting, methods of outcome measurement, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data will be required.

  • Lead qualitative data collection, such as focus groups, and configure data

  • collection surveys. This position will give input to project timelines, strategies for content development, and processes for execution of deliverables.

  • Assist faculty in grant and contract report writing to report project milestones and outcomes evaluation. Strong knowledge of both scholarly and plain language writing is necessary to adapt reports to various audiences; these reports will include technical writing, narrative description, and data visualization to present the findings in meaningful ways.

  • Ensure compliance within the division of UAMS policies and procedures.

  • Complete data collection for various projects. This may be qualitative or quantitative data collection. The methods may require on-site work in the field or remote/virtual work with stakeholder groups.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
