We are looking for a Research Associate who will be based in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and will be expected to work effectively in developing innovative solutions for integrating geophysical data and machine learning approaches for geological modelling and site characterization. The position is expected to perform independent and collaborative research on interdisciplinary studies involves geophysics and geotechnical engineering knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting research on advanced laboratory soil testing and other related research work
Producing project progress reports and peer-reviewed journal papers
Assisting in the development of research proposals that could be funded externally
Collaborating with other team members on other research tasks in the Centre.
Job Requirements:
Master in geotechnical engineering or related discipline
At least 2 years of relevant experience in geophysical data analysis
Familiarity with geological modelling software (e.g. Leapfrog and GOCAD) and machine learning skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python)
Competent in applying artificial intelligent skills into geophysical and geotechnical data analysis
Ability to work independently and develop solutions under strict timelines
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
