Method Development & Specialized Research: Design and implement a technique to agarose-fix, harvest, and section tissues for integration into Precision Cut Lung Slices experiments. Provide training: To strengthen research integrity and rigor, design and implement a Research Reproducibility Bootcamp consisting of short sessions (30-45 minutes) covering data documentation and exposure fact sheet handling. Protocol Development: Develop rodent exposure systems as needed by the lab. Ensure day-to-day laboratory operations at InTox. Scheduling & Coordination: Assist in scheduling the exposures conducted at InTox.
Job Responsibilities:
45%- Assist and support the research/investigators of the Inhalation Research Laboratory. This will include, but not be limited to, basic operation, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including aerosol generation and delivery systems for inhalation studies, sample processing, data analysis and management, and record keeping.
20%- Train in pulmonary function testing, ID implants/recovery, blood drawing, and injections. Protocol Development: Develop rodent exposure systems as needed by the lab. Design and implement a technique to agarose-fix, harvest, and section tissues for integration into Precision Cut Lung Slices experiments.
10%- Participate in research problem solving and to conduct literature searches and help prepare research papers. Contributed as a co-author on publications and supported manuscript preparation and data analysis for peer-reviewed research outputs.
10%- Will assist in the training of student workers or graduate students, and perform supervisory duties. To strengthen research integrity and rigor, design and implement a Research Reproducibility Bootcamp consisting of short, focused training sessions (30-45 minutes each) covering data documentation, laboratory notebook management, and exposure fact sheet handling.
5%- Scheduling and Coordination: Assist in developing and maintaining the exposure facility schedule, coordinating exposure times for principal investigators, Ph.D students, and collaborating laboratories.
5%- Perform laboratory management duties, including ordering supplies and managing inventory.
5%- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field or a bachelor's degree and two years related
experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Biology, Toxicology, or Bio-Science field and three or more years of related experience.
