Project management duties for the annual hypoxia cruise, including: preparation of relevant equipment and supplies, data quality control, data archival. Assist in data analysis and manuscript preparation. Coordinate and participate in laboratory and field activities of large research projects as part of the Marine Community Ecology Laboratory. Process biological and sediment samples. Occasional field work on small and large vessels, sometimes overnight trips.
Job Responsibilities:
35% Will handle laboratory administration activities (ordering supplies, expense reports, travel coordination, etc.).
35% Will handle project management for the annual hypoxia cruise.
10% Assist in data analysis and manuscript preparation.
15% Process biological and sediment samples.
5% Coordinate and participate in laboratory and field activities of large research projects as part of the Marine Community Ecology Laboratory and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Geology or Environmental Sciences or any other science degree plus two years experience.
Degree Substitute:
Master's Degree in a related degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marine Sciences
3-5 years of experience
Specific Experience:
Offshore research cruise experience, data management
Competencies:
Proficient Strong written and oral communications skills
Proficient Research experience in a science related field
