Job Description:

Research Associate 2

The Research Associate will work/assist on current projects involving in vitro exposure of cell cultures (35% time-effort) and in vivo studies (35% time-effort) related to inhalation of environmental pollutants. They will perform immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays for these studies. The applicant must be able to work independently in a collaborative team environment. The Research Associate will also perform laboratory tasks as assigned, including ordering supplies and inventory maintenance (20% time-effort). They will assist in the training and supervision of student workers and graduate students working in the laboratory (10% time-effort).

 

Job Responsibilities:

35% - Work/assist on current projects involving in vitro exposure of cell cultures and perform immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays for these studies.

 

35% - Work/assist on current projects involving in vivo studies related to inhalation of environmental pollutants and perform immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays for these studies.

 

 

20% -Perform laboratory tasks as assigned, including ordering supplies and inventory maintenance.

 

10%- Train and supervise student workers and graduate students working in the laboratory. Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field; and 1 year experience conducting research in a laboratory setting

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, Biochemistry, or Microbiology; and 1+ years of experience in laboratory management and cell culture work.

 

 

Special and Physical Qualifications: 

 

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

 

Ability and willingness to work some weekends and holidays (flexible scheduling of hours may be available).
