Position Summary:

This position will support the implementation and coordination of research activities under the direction of the Principal Investigator (Dr. Mariano Kanamori) and the project team. This role involves direct interaction with study participants at pharmacy, clinical, and community settings in Miami-Dade and Broward. Responsibilities will include project implementation, data collection, data analysis, and ensuring that the research protocols are followed according to regulatory and ethical standards.

Project Summary:

This position will support prevention sciences research, including multicomponent and multilevel implementation sciences programs. Under the principal investigator, projects use mixed methods, social network, and implementation science approaches, to conduct observational and randomized controlled studies.

Minimum Qualifications                                                                                                                                                                  

Education: Bachelor in Health Sciences or closely related field preferred (i.e., Public Health or Nursing)

Experience: One year of prior research is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

- Knowledge of clinical research protocols and IRB processes is preferred.

- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead activities in diverse settings including community events, pharmacies, clinical and other venues.

- Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants for research studies.

- Obtain informed consent and ensure that participants fully understand the research procedures.

- Administering study-related procedures and interventions.

- Monitor participants for adverse events and report findings to the study team and PI as required.

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case report forms, medical records, and study logs.

- Coordinate study visits and follow-ups according to the project schedule.

- Ensure compliance with Human Subject Research (HSR), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP), institutional guidelines, and study protocols.

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team, including investigators, data managers, administrative staff, and community-based staff.

- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on study progress, issues, and outcomes.

- Assist with data collection, entry, quality control and data analysis.

- Collaborate with local sexual health community-based organizations.

- Deliver programs such as HIV prevention navigation services including PrEP.

Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours depending on study needs. Flexible hours may include evening and weekend activities. Remote work is not allowed.
  • Must possess a current, valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to use personal transportation for work purposes.
  • Local travel throughout South Florida will be required.
