The Research Assistant provides administrative and technical support for research projects, including coordinating field logistics, ensuring adherence to established protocols, assisting with the training and supervision of seasonal staff, and supporting data management tasks.
Opportunities to Contribute
Conducts marshbird point counts at remote sites following established protocols and safety procedures and collects standardized vegetation and habitat measurements associated with survey points.
Assists with scheduling, daily field planning, training, troubleshooting, and ensuring consistent protocol implementation across field staff.
Manages data entry, QA/QC, file organization, and maintains field equipment to support accurate and efficient project operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
Knowledge of wildlife/ecology field methods.
Marshbird or avian survey experience.
Experience with vegetation sampling.
Experience with GPS navigation.
DATA QA/QC.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Presentation skills.
Analytical skills.
Attention to detail.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
