Job Overview

This position will serve to support the research of the Glazer Lab to carry out drug development studies characterizing the action of an LXR agonist on inhibiting tumor progression and normalizing the tumor microenvironment by reducing fibrosis, inflammation and immune suppression.  The responsibilities of this position will be to analyze RNAseq data, immunohistochemistry and breed transgenic mouse colonies to assess the efficacy of the LXR agonist.

Work Interactions

This on-campus position supports the research of the Dept. of Oncology, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is one of the overall missions at the Medical Center.  The incumbent is expected to interact with other members of the lab and adjoining labs.  The position reports to Dr. Glazer and Dr. Yong, Research Asst. Prof.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology or related discipline as well as related lab procedures in these areas

  • Previous experience including course-related training in gene and PCR analysis, animal breeding, drug formulation and genotyping

Pay Range 

The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $17.31 - $21.15. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
