Position Description:

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Research Assistant III to join an active NIMH-funded study on youth anxiety, interoception, and risk for eating disorders. The longitudinal study utilizes clinical interviews, physiological assessments, behavioral tasks, ecological momentary assessment (EMA), and questionnaires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participant Management: Communicating with participants over email, in person, and over the phone, assisting with participant retention and payment.
  • Data Collection: Facilitating physiological assessments, behavioral tasks, and questionnaires both in-lab and online.
  • Lab Operations: Assisting with Institutional Review Board submissions and management. Maintaining databases (REDCap/SPSS), purchasing supplies and tracking expenses, supervising research assistants and working with the large study team.
  • Research Development: Opportunities for involvement in conference presentations and manuscripts for publication are available but not required.
  • Other Duties: Assisting with grant applications and literature searches, entering and coding data, and general organizational and research activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, Neuroscience, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of psychology research or lab management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SPSS, and REDCap.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively with youth and families.
  • Commitment: Ability to commit to at least 1 year (with potential for extension).
