Position Description:

The Research Assistant II will provide supportive assistance to the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team on clinical research activities within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. The position contributes to industry-sponsored, NIH-funded, and investigator-initiated studies involving human subjects by helping coordinate day-to-day research tasks and ensuring compliance with study requirements. This is a part time position, 15-20 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with study-related activities as outlined in research protocols, including screening potential participants, scheduling visits, and supporting the informed consent process under supervision.

  • Collect and record clinical research data from designated sources; enter, verify, and maintain study information in required databases.

  • Support basic clinical procedures such as vital sign collection, specimen handling, laboratory processing, and preparation of materials for shipment according to established guidelines.

  • Maintain study files, regulatory binders, and clinical trial materials; help prepare routine updates for sponsors and internal oversight groups as directed.

  • Complete required institutional research trainings, study-specific modules, and maintain any applicable certifications.

  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the PI and research staff, including coordination of meetings, communication with study participants, and assistance with routine study documentation.

  • Assist with preparation of simple data summaries or reports under guidance from senior staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support smooth functioning of clinical research operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.

  • Prior experience working in clinical research or healthcare settings.

  • Interest in cardiovascular medicine or exposure to clinical trial operations.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$25.39

Target Compensation Minimum:

$16.93

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
