Under the supervision of the immediate Supervisor, the Research Assistant 1 will support participant recruitment activities, maintain research records and databases, assist with preparation of study materials, provide translation support, assist with research ethics administration and support outreach activities.

Position Summary:

  • Support participant recruitment activities by assisting with participant outreach, maintaining recruitment lists, scheduling study visits, and preparing standardized screening materials, under established protocols.
  • Maintain research records and databases by entering, organizing, and updating participant and study information in approved systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to institutional guidelines.
  • Assist with preparation of study materials, including formatting consent forms, recruitment advertisements, participant communications, and summaries, based on templates and instructions provided by the research team.
  • Provide translation support (e.g., English–French) for study documents and participant communications, as required.
  • Assist with research ethics administration by preparing draft materials for REB submissions, amendments, and renewals, organizing supporting documentation, and tracking submission timelines, under supervision. Final submissions and correspondence remain the responsibility of the supervisor or designated senior staff.
  • Support outreach activities by helping compile contact lists, preparing informational materials, and coordinating logistics for meetings or communications with clinicians, community partners, or collaborators.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for digital health and research projects, including basic data compilation, user feedback tracking, and preparation of summaries or background materials, as directed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to routine project coordination tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical science, public health, or a related field.
  • Prior experience assisting with research, clinical, administrative, or data-related tasks is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, maintain accurate records, and handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage assigned tasks within set timelines.
  • Comfort using common digital tools (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, MS Office or Google Workspace).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supervised research environment.
