About you

The Research Analyst is responsible for providing a range of research and analytical support services to the Calgary Office team. The incumbent will assist in conducting in-depth market research, as well as sourcing, managing, and analyzing data on the Calgary office real estate market to generate insights and further enhance our research capabilities.

In this role, you will…

  • Prepare periodic research publications on the office real estate market in Calgary, including market commentary, and various research content including presentations, market reports, white papers, as needed.

  • Gather, track, and manage data on market activity by obtaining information from relevant sources (including listings, comparables, and others) and enter it into the CRM+ database and/or relevant systems

  • Assist in the compilation, verification, and publication of office market data following Colliers’ standard processes. Collaborate with the Data Team to troubleshoot data issues and ensure the proper Data Governance is followed and ensuring accuracy.

  • Actively participate in sales and research meetings and engage with industry professionals through local events to enhance relationships and market knowledge.

  • Build and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality in research processes and deliverables.

  • Be comfortable presenting, summarizing analytic findings, insights and recommendations via executive-level summary documents, meetings and presentations.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, and current events to inform ongoing projects.

  • Provide the relevant training and orientation internally to support any rollout of research content or initiatives.

  • Other duties as required.

What you’ll bring

  • Undergraduate degree required. Real Estate or Business post-secondary is an asset.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a research role. Experience in commercial real estate preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft 365 suites including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. 

  • Experience in BI, data visualization and GIS tools would be an asset.

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills with the ability to confidently present data and market insights to clients.

  • Strong networking and relationship-building ability, proactive, results-oriented, and resourceful.

  • Attention to detail and an ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
