The Opportunity

We are seeking a Reprographics Operator to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Washington DC (onsite). Operates and maintains duplicating, printing, scanning, and binding equipment and related supplies.  Monitors front desk, email and online requests to complete initial intake of projects.  Collaborates with Senior Manager, Senior Supervisor or Lead Operator in assessing requested services to determine appropriateness of outsourcing projects.  Performs quality control inspection of work product to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Completes in-take process including, but not limited to, quality control and distribution of work assignments, communications with requestor and final distribution of product. 
  • Monitors and maintains online requests.
  • Collaborates with Senior Manager or Senior Supervisor in assessing projects to determine if deadline can be met by utilizing internal resources or to determine appropriateness of outsourcing. 
  • Coordinates with Senior Manager or Senior Supervisor in monitoring outsourcing of projects including initial vendor contact, quality control, providing feedback and ensuring appropriate billing.
  • Performs quality control inspection throughout the production process to ensure projects are completed according to instructions on the work order (e.g., ensure copied sets are in same order as original; binding done properly; work orders packaged correctly and boxes clearly labeled).
  • Operates copy machines to duplicate hard copy documents and related materials.
  • Performs tasks associated with printing documents from electronic sources (e-mail attachments, PDF files, USB, CDs, shared drive, etc.), scanning and conversion of documents into imaging system.
  • Operates binding equipment as needed to complete projects.
  • Delivers completed projects to requesters as needed.
  • Maintains Reprographic equipment making necessary adjustments to equipment in order to obtain the highest quality reproduction possible.
  • Ensures binding equipment, 3-hole drill, and paper cutter are in proper working condition and reports malfunctioning equipment to Senior Manager or Senior Supervisor.
  • Performs basic non-electrical repairs on malfunctioning copy machines and printers.  Makes service calls as needed and shares information with Senior Supervisor or Senior Manager.  Includes malfunction/repair and status information on shift report.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies for copy machines and general operating supplies. 
  • Prepares written status report at the end of shift on a rotating basis.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibility.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs frequent physical exertion including: standing, walking, bending over, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, repetitive use of both hand lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Regular and reliable physical presence is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Operates equipment and performs job tasks in a safe manner, including utilizing safe lifting techniques, while minimizing risk to self and others
  • Knowledge of production print, finishing, duplicating, scanning and binding equipment
  • Knowledge of copy print services field and procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of related experience

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details.  Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Salary Details

$60,000 - $70,000
