The Hiscox Global Data, Analytics, and AI Team is applying data-powered innovation across the organisation to deliver tangible commercial value through business growth and efficiency. The Role
The Reporting and Self Service Enablement Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing reporting solutions and self-service analytics capabilities across the organisation. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and actionable to support informed decision-making.
The Reporting & Self Service Enablement Lead is responsible for the day to day running of the Analytics Chapter, bringing together all the analytics professionals and creating common ways of working which speed up delivery, improve quality and support innovation. The standards set by the Reporting and Self-Service Lead will enable business users to independently generate insights while maintaining governance, quality, and consistency of data assets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Vision: Develop and communicate a clear vision for reporting and self-service analytics, aligning with organisational goals and data strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business units, leadership, and IT to gather reporting requirements, understand business challenges, and prioritise initiatives.
Solution Design & Delivery: Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust reporting frameworks and self-service tools (e.g., Power BI, Dataiku) ensuring scalability and ease of use.
Enablement & Training: Drive user adoption by creating training programs, user guides, and best practice documentation, empowering users to build and interpret their own reports.
Data Governance: Implement and uphold data governance standards, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance throughout reporting and self-service platforms.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor reporting usage and feedback, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the analytics chapter and enablement specialists as required.
Vendor & Tool Management: Evaluate, manage, and optimise reporting and analytics tools, working closely with vendors and IT for enhancements and issue resolution.
Person Specification
Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Dataiku), SQL, and data modelling.
Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes, KPIs, and how data supports strategic objectives.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to translate complex data concepts for non-technical audiences.
Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders.
Change Management: Proven ability to drive adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Leadership: Experience leading teams and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
