Position Description
Repair Technician 4 will perform repair and/or service work of Company products in accordance with prescribed procedures. The job requires using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and network adapters to diagnose and repair the customer tools. The repair of these tools is considered to an increase in level of detail, diagnostic ability, and general mechanical / electrical knowledge above the tech 3 position. All electronic devices will be provided to complete your daily tasks. Computers will be provided for document review, systematic processing, and diagnostic adapters. RF devices will be used to advance tool stages. You will evaluate warranty parameters before performing work on any tool.
What You Will Do
Work safely and intentionally during all aspects of job including proper PPE and situational awareness.
Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.
Complete the information on the repair order form including the utilization of technician notes.
Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.
General maintenance includes following the manufacturer’s guidelines on testing and maintaining equipment on specific tool groups.
Periodic checks make sure the equipment is functioning properly.
Identify any issues that may cause premature failure to tool components.
Perform necessary repairs that might include disassembly of units, diagnosis using testing equipment, volt meters, and the location and replacement of worn or defective parts within the allotted times in accordance with work instructions.
Read and understand the tool schematics, blueprints, manuals, manufacturers’ specifications, and diagrams. This is critical in diagnosing the root cause of the problem.
Technicians are capable of repairing components that control machinery and automation equipment.
Analysis and repair of some mechanical components may be required for some tools.
Make decisions surrounding the repair of the tool based on TSB’s, work instructions, and playbooks.
Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty information and utilize tech notes.
Set up and perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests to ensure tool repair and/or work performed is in accordance with prescribed quality standards.
Work is subject to in-process inspection and testing.
Responsible for quality of work, safety and housekeeping in assigned area.
Be a Milwaukee Tool culture champion by handling tasks as assigned, including working on different processes and departments as needed.
What You Will Bring
Requires an education equivalent to high school diploma or GED
Must have mechanical skills and diagnostic skills
High attention to detail
Basic computer and writing skills
Sauter wires as needed
Be familiar with wire re-work
One to two years of previous experience in electrical and/or mechanical repair
Fluency in English with strong communication skills, written and oral
Ability to stand for long periods of time, repetitive motion, and work in various temperature conditions
