Workday is seeking a versatile Renewals Manager to support the end-to-end renewal cycle for a high-volume segment of the specialized products customer base. This role is a strategic customer facing execution position, coordinating with internal teams across multiple specialized product lines.
The role requires an analytical, organized individual who excels at managing a high-velocity workflow in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Renewal Execution
Execute the end-to-end renewal process for a designated high-volume portfolio of specialized product accounts globally, ensuring on-time closure and minimizing financial attrition (reducing churn).
Quoting
Prepare self-service eligible renewal quotes and order forms and coordinate with Deal Operations as needed in the quoting and order form process.
Negotiations
Conduct negotiations on standard renewal facets (term, quantity, pricing within guardrails) to maximize contract value while maintaining positive customer relationships, in close partnership with Deal Operations, Customer Success Managers and Account Executives.
Process & Forecast Adherence
Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting on renewal status.
Ensure consistent and timely progression of renewal opportunities through defined sales stages, following standardized processes.
Risk & Mitigation
Flag potential risk accounts and early warning signals to senior team members and Sales/CS partners.
Support execution of defined mitigation plans.
Cross-Functional Facilitation
Serve as a primary owner working with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and Deal Operations to resolve commercial roadblocks and ensure seamless deal flow.
Compliance
Follow and adhere to all internal best practices for Opportunity Management, data quality, and pricing guardrails.
Work in a flex model environment (minimum of 50% in office).
About You
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to articulate commercial terms clearly during negotiations with renewing customers.
Comfortable investigating and resolving complex customer dynamics during the renewal process.
Ability to quickly prioritize a high volume of work and execute efficiently under tight deadlines.
Self-driven and autonomous, with a strong sense of ownership over a large, complex portfolio.
Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented, process-minded approach.
Great Workday ambassador, modeling core values and contributing to a strong, positive culture.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of demonstrated success in customer facing Sales, Renewals, Customer Support, or a similar commercial operations role within a B2B environment, preferably SaaS.
Proven experience handling a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts or transactions.
Fluent in English.
For Costa Rica-based roles: bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
Other Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Strong proficiency with Salesforce and self-service CPQ tools (e.g., Apttus or equivalent).
Advanced ability to manipulate data and formulas in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Experience with objection handling and managing basic customer facing commercial negotiations.
Familiarity with leveraging automation or AI-powered tools to enhance commercial workflows and reporting efficiency.
Experience in the SaaS industry, preferably with enterprise or specialized software solutions.
