The pay range per hour is $20.25 - $34.45

ALL ABOUT STORE REMODELS 

No two remodels look exactly alike, and for good reason. We approach each one with a customized combo of the latest enhancements from our next generation of store design to meet the unique needs of a store and the neighborhood around it. 

At Target we believe in our leaders having meaningful experiences that help them build and develop skills for a career. The role of a Remodel Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of:  

  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture on your team 

  • Knowledge of retail business fundamentals: department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies  

  • Skills in planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals  

  • Skills in process improvements and workload efficiency  

  • Leading a team of hourly team members; including skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent 

 

As a Remodel Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities: 

  • Help keep store workload related to the remodel project timely through daily collaboration with store and construction teams at the direction of direct leader. 

  • Lead and direct remodel transition process, inclusive of fixtures, signs, displays, etc. in partnership with store TLs and TMs. 

  • Proactively identify issues and follow correct escalation paths to resolve issues in a timely manner. 

  • Enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. 

  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload in partnership with the ETL Remodel. 

  • With the guidance from the ETL Remodel, establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations. 

  • Help train and lead a knowledgeable and engaged remodel team at the direction of ETL Remodel. 

  • Help communicate weekly remodel workload and milestone progress to appropriate partners and be a conduit for information and feedback. 

  • Lead a culture of excellence: executing all operational tasks per best practices and helping to close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions. 

  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management. 

  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences. 

  • Model creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you & your team are completing your daily tasks. 

  • Demonstrate how to engage with guests when assistance is needed, engage with guests in a welcoming way, and help solve their specific needs. 

  • Lead by thanking guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target. 

  • If applicable, as a key carrier, implement all safe and secure training and processes. 

  • Model the execution of physical security processes in order to enhance the instore security culture. 

  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store; including ordering, storage and application as directed by best practices. 

  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct: lead your team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment. 

  • Work a schedule that aligns to business needs (this may include early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends). 

  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting/investigating injuries timely and accurately. 

  • Address all store and offsite emergency and compliance needs. 

  • All other duties based on business needs or as directed by direct leader. 

 

Dayside Remodel TL 

  • Help plan, prep and stage each night’s workload for the overnight remodel team to execute at the direction of the ETL Remodel 

  • With ETL Remodel guidance, audit planogram (POG) set accuracy and follow up on issues until resolution 

  • Help ETL Remodel with following up on reordered fixtures, signing, displays, supplies and equipment to ensure all materials needed for sets are available  

  • With the guidance and direction of the ETL Remodel, develop a strategy to ensure the store is always ready for guests to shop 

 

 

Overnight Remodel TL 

  • With ETL Remodel guidance, act as the overall point of contact for the store overnight and meet with the General Contractor (GC) and/or Fixture Contractor (FC) daily to maintain strong partnerships and execution of the project by store open each day  

  • At the direction of the ETL Remodel, help train and coach the remodel team members on the accuracy of merchandise sets, including setting all fixtures, displays and signing according to POG  

  • With ETL Remodel guidance, coordinate and troubleshoot for the store team as they set per the sequence schedule 

  • Work with the GC and store team to have the store guest ready by open each day   

  • Partner with the Property Management Lead (PML) to maintain a consistent housekeeping schedule 

  • Coordinate with the store team and GC to direct fixture accessories and ISM pallets into containers

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Remodel Team Leader. But there are a few skills you should have from the get-go: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older 

  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required 

  • Lead and hold others accountable 

  • Work independently and as part of a team 

  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently 

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members 

  • Effective communication skills  

  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes 

  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

  • Interpret instructions, reports and information 

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed. 

  • Climb up and down ladders 

  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others. 

  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., overnight, nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary. 

  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting/investigating injuries timely and accurately. 

  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
