In this role as Reliability & Performance Manager 80-100% (m/f/d), you will drive the definition and tracking of Engineering KPIs across all sub‑groups, evaluate maintenance and CQV activities to optimize cost and performance, and assess CAPEX effectiveness. You will also take ownership of sustainability initiatives by defining goals, KPIs, and projects, while acting as the key interface to our global sustainability program.

What you’ll do:

Reliability & Performance Management

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve Engineering KPIs across all groups (Maintenance / Plant Engineering, CQV, EI&C, Utilities, Projects).
  • Perform systematic bad actor analysis (equipment, systems, processes) using failure data, maintenance history, deviations, and cost drivers. Lessons Learned for projects.
  • Evaluate maintenance strategies and execution (preventive vs. corrective vs. runtime, backlog, cost structures) and identify optimization potential to reduce total OPEX cost.
  • Review CQV activities and lifecycle performance, ensuring cost‑effective execution while maintaining GMP and quality compliance.
  • Analyze asset performance data and translate findings into actionable improvement measures and standards.

CAPEX Performance & Governance

  • Evaluate CAPEX performance for Engineering projects (cost, schedule, reliability impact).
  • Identify recurring weaknesses and improvement levers across the project lifecycle (design, execution, handover, early operation).
  • Support Engineering leadership with data‑driven insights for CAPEX prioritization, lessons learned, and performance reviews.

Sustainability

  • Define sustainability‑related goals, KPIs, and Engineering projects in alignment with INB and site strategy.
  • Act as local Engineering interface to the global sustainability program, including reporting, alignment, and contribution to global initiatives.
  • Identify and drive Engineering‑led sustainability improvements (energy, water, utilities, asset efficiency, lifecycle optimization).

Governance, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish transparent KPI dashboards and reporting routines for Engineering leadership.
  • Drive standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement across Engineering processes.
  • Act as a sparring partner for Engineering managers on performance, cost efficiency, and reliability topics.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering; MSc preferred.

  • 5–10 years of advanced professional experience in Engineering, Operations, or CAPEX project environments.

  • Strong technical understanding with experience in Engineering, Operations, or CAPEX projects.

  • Proven project experience and the ability to evaluate technical data and performance metrics.

  • Solid analytical and evaluation skills, including the ability to interpret complex engineering information.

  • Proficiency in SAP for maintenance, project, or asset‑related processes.

  • Business‑fluent English (required) and German (preferred).
