The Release Train Engineer Manager will be a part of the Digital division within the Multifamily line of business, helping to transform the way in which Freddie Mac does business.

Your Impact:

A great fit for our team will drive significant influence and organization by fostering product excellence and dynamic coaching. You will guide and lead the ART and teams through the delivery of software and services, championing a culture of deep product understanding and continuous improvement. You will work seamlessly across cross-functional resources—including product, technology, operations, data, and business—to deliver value and drive impactful outcomes for our customers and partners. This person will also:

  • Champion product enablement by ensuring teams have the resources, knowledge, and context to understand and support our products at a deep level

  • Collaborate with communities of practice and identify and deploy key metrics to enable continuous improvement across the development teams

  • Identify and direct the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve product quality and team enablement

  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs), along with standing Agile ceremonies

  • Facilitate escalation for impediment removal for the Scrum Master and Scrum teams by fostering collaboration throughout the ART

  • Lead PI Planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process which drives the vision, roadmap, and backlogs through Pre- and Post-PI planning meetings

  • Serve as a dynamic coach, helping teams transform their approach to work through product-focused agile practices

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant professional experience as a Development Manager, Product Manager, or Program Manager

  • A bachelor's degree in a technically related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced studies/degree preferred

  • 2 + years of management experience is required

  • Training and/or certification as a Scrum Master by an educational or professional association

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and empower teams to transform their work and drive product enablement

  • Previous experience engaging partners, contributors, and technical resources to deliver software

  • Proven and in-depth understanding of agile development and continuous deployment practices

  • Solid grasp of scaled agile (SAFe), release, and increments

  • Project expertise with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)

  • Superb communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Proven success in agile software development for complex information technology system

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $153,000 - $229,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
