JOB TITLE: Relationship Manager – Mid Corporate Direct
LOCATION: Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle
SALARY: £70,929.00 -£78,810
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Two days per week (or 40% of your time) in the office.

About this opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Relationship Manager to join our Mid Corporate Direct - Public Sector & Charities team.  This role centres on leading a sector-specialist portfolio of c92 client groups, primarily within the Local Authority sector, with a rolling 12-month income of £8.5m, assets of £123.5m, and liabilities of £538.3m. Client relationships are handled remotely via Microsoft Teams and telephone, with occasional in-person meetings. Supported by an Associate Relationship Manager, you’ll deepen existing client relationships by providing sector specialist insight and developing strong client advocacy. Finding opportunities to meet customer needs you’ll also drive franchise growth, alongside leading the risk and governance of your portfolio. This is an ideal role for someone who has established relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills. Experience in Business and Commercial Banking and the Public Sector is desirable, but not essential. Full training will be given to the candidate with the right skills and behaviours.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

  • Leading high-quality client meetings and becoming a trusted advisor through strategic engagement
  • Growing your portfolio’s P&L and Balance Sheet by deepening existing and developing new relationships.  Including leading on invitations to tender.
  • Identifying client needs, taking ownership of any challenges, and collaborating to deliver tailored solutions
  • Proactive identification, management and oversight of risk and control issues on your portfolio.  Including completing credit assessments and requests for new/renewed facilities.
  • Staying informed on Public Sector and ESG developments to support client engagement and inform future strategy
  • Coaching and developing your Associate Relationship Manager
