About this position
The Relationship Management Associate (“RMA”) role will play an important role in supporting the T. Rowe Price Mid Europe Sales Team, which covers the DACH region and parts of the French/Luxembourg/Eastern European market. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be part of a vibrant and sizeable distribution team working in a fast paced and friendly environment with several Relationship Managers (“RMs”), supporting them in a variety of ways including meeting preparation and follow up, reporting and research, Salesforce (CRM system) management, managing pipeline and opportunities and liaising with other teams across the business such as Marketing, RFPs and Operations.
Reporting to the “Head of Client Service Mid Europe” also based in Frankfurt, the RMA will support the two main distribution channels sales teams: “Intermediaries” – fund buyers/sellers including financial distributors, asset managers, FoFs, savings/co-operative/private banks, financial advisors – and the Institutional team – dealing primarily with pension institutions, insurance companies and Single Family Offices.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious individual with a genuine appetite for Investment Management and a passion to learn more about funds/separate account mandates, financial markets and the industry. Outstanding communication and organisational skills along with excellent attention to detail and being able to multitask and work calmly in a fast-paced environment is essential. The ability to build long lasting relationships both internally and externally is also very important for the role.
Principal Responsibilities
Provides client service and sales support of a high quality, such as:
Assisting RMs in preparation for client meetings, preparing sales presentations, assembling material, delivering notes where relevant
Sourcing sales material and updating sales and educational presentations used by RMs
Assisting and contributing to the successful organization and delivery of webinars and other client events, both physical and virtual
Assisting in the onboarding of new clients, liaising with the client’s departments and internal relevant teams, such as Legal, Investments, Operations, Onboarding
Responding to ad-hoc client requests
Facilitating the implementation and/or delivery of client reports
Send invitation/follow up emails as agreed and directed by RMs
Requesting Requests for Proposal, Due Diligence questionnaires or any non-standard presentation materials for anticipated client sales pitches, meetings or events
Assisting in the completion of the above RFPs/DDQs
Completing any client/internal meeting notes and follow-up as agreed with the RMs
Maintaining client records, contacts, opportunities and at-risk business in the CRM system (Salesforce) in collaboration with RMs
Ensure that all client-facing materials (e.g. presentations) are reviewed and aligned with Compliance requirements in collaboration with the Compliance team
Liaises closely with Local and Global Marketing in relation to any planned client communication/ campaigns or events and assists with client-related preparation. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing, together with the RMs, details of client contacts for any communication and for following up after any event or activity as assigned
Liaises and coordinates with other internal teams, such as the Investment Team, RFP team, Operations, Account Liaison, Marketing Data in order to respond to client enquiries,
Builds a thorough understanding of key investment strategies and establishes relationships with the investment teams. Develops detailed understanding of the applicable investment vehicle structures.
Proactively identifies and raises suggestions for improvements to the quality and effectiveness of processes and customer service
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
2+ years of relevant work experience in asset management, ideally within a client service / distribution team
Native/fluent German, English fluency both written and spoken
Ability to quickly identify internal and external client needs/expectations and propose solutions, leveraging outstanding active listening and related skill sets
Demonstrated ability to comprehend and effectively adapt to new internal/external client information and situations
Strong team player, ability to work in partnership with the RMA manager, RMs and local Marketing team
Sound judgment, problem solving and excellent organizational and time management skills
Highly effective communication (verbal and written), collaboration and influencing skills
Driven to achieve firm and client priorities: motivation, enthusiasm, perseverance and resilience are hallmark personal traits
Capacity to effectively manage and deliver on multiple tasks/projects, both strategic and tactical
