Position Overview
The Global Product Regulatory Stewardship team’s stated objective is to support our external and internal customers and other constituencies through regulatory compliance.
Primary Duties
- Author safety data sheets in European and non-European languages using SAP and H. B. Fuller systems to meet legal requirements (REACH, GHS, etc.) for finished and commercial goods.
- Assess, discuss, and implement classification changes of chemical substances based on raw material supplier data or data provided by national and/or international authorities.
- Anticipate and communicate regulatory changes that would impact Product Stewardship risks for existing products as well as new products.
- Communicate Recipe notifications to European and non-European authorities, customs, medical officers, trade associations, and external dangerous goods offices (primarily including customer inquiries)
- Perform dangerous goods classifications on a global level for all modes of transport (new creation and changes) and classify sample shipments.
- Select and modify transport packaging according to dangerous goods regulations in cooperation with product management, logistics, sales and process engineering.
- Consult with Research and Development, Sales, Product Management as well as Operations regarding environmental law and hazardous material law (especially labeling)
- Partner with Business and Technology Leaders to support development and implementation of new products, applications and growth of existing products.
- Support raw material consolidation through communication with global supply chain management and raw material requesters.
- Support the management of our internal product lifecycle management systems to ensure that additions, updates and maintenance being performed by other departments within H.B. Fuller do not compromise any aspects of existing regulatory compliance statuses.
- Interpret formula chemistries for successful commercialization of products and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate communications/short trainings to the sales, tech service, and other business team members.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- 1+ years’ experience in a technical/regulatory role with SDS authoring and other regulatory responsibilities
- Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management within a team environment on a variety of programs and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead projects or initiatives to a successful outcome.
- Well organized. Able to work under pressure with a multi-national team, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow-through.
- Advanced skills in English language
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of REACH like regulations
- Experience in classification and labeling of substances and mixtures.
- Experience with SAP applications
- Basic knowledge of international dangerous goods agreements (ADR, IMDG, IATA)
- Skills in at least one additional European language
