Regulatory Specialist - Quality & Patient Safety - Full-Time - Enterprise Wide

As a Regulatory Specialist, you will participate in hospital-wide continuous readiness activities to facilitate ongoing hospital compliance with Joint Commission, CMS and DOH requirements. Serve as subject matter expert for hospital teams assessing compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards and requirements. You'll collaborate with departments, service lines, operations and clinical units on the implementation of standardized processes for accreditation and regulatory activities across the NewYork-Presbyterian Enterprise. Assist hospital teams in assessment of compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards and requirements and identifying and gaps. Additionally, ass facilitate development and monitor completion of corrective action plans and analyze and interpret data while providing strategic recommendations.

This is a full time day shift position working 4 days in-office and the ability for 1 day remote. Travel is required to all NewYork-Presbyterian Hospitals, joint ventures, medical groups, and physician organizations as needed.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s degree in a related field

  • Clinical licensure (RN, NP, PA, RD, PT/OT, or PharmD)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification

  • 3+ years Project Management experience; ability to plan and lead project, facilitate project scope, develop project plans, manage timelines and provide direction and support to project team

  • Experience with Joint Commission or other regulatory survey activities in inpatient and ambulatory settings

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years in healthcare-related roles

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS and DOH requirements and/or experience with Joint Commission or regulatory survey activity

  • Experience with desktop computer applications and knowledge of database concepts. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other web-based applications

  • Experience managing and interpreting data

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate across departments and levels of leadership
