Regulatory Counsel Brazil
Overview
Mastercard Brazil is seeking a Counsel, Regulatory to support product launches, rule changes, participant matters, and regulatory authorizations in light of the increased complexity introduced Central Bank of Brazil under a new regulatory framework. This role will provide end-to-end regulatory support across business and operational initiatives, while helping manage Mastercard’s engagement with the Central Bank.
Key Responsibilities
· Support regulatory assessments and authorization processes for new products, business models, rule changes, and operational initiatives
· Execute formal approval processes, including legal analysis, impact assessment coordination, documentation, and timeline management
· Review products and business models to ensure compliance is addressed from inception
· Provide end-to-end regulatory support across product and operational initiatives
· Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure complete, consistent, and timely execution
· Support engagement with the Central Bank, including meetings, communications, responses, and follow-ups
· Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance
All About You
· Qualified lawyer with experience in financial regulation, payments, banking, fintech, or another regulated sector
· Experience with product reviews, regulatory approvals, rule changes, or cross-functional implementation projects
· Strong knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory environment and Central Bank interaction
· Sound legal judgment combined with pragmatic business orientation
· Strong writing, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
· Fluent in Portuguese and English
