About the role

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory & Compliance Manager to join our Retail Transformation program within Customer Markets.

This role sits at the heart of one of AGL’s most significant transformation programs and offers a unique chance to influence how regulatory and compliance requirements are embedded by design into our future operating model — while enabling innovation and better customer outcomes.

As the Regulatory & Compliance Manager, Transformation, you’ll lead regulatory and compliance capability across the Retail Transformation program, ensuring change is delivered at scale and pace while remaining aligned to AGL’s regulatory, legal and risk obligations.

Reporting to the Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Transformation Manager, you’ll partner closely with transformation leaders, operational teams, Legal and external regulators to proactively manage regulatory risks, simplify complex requirements and strengthen compliance culture across Customer Markets.

This is a highly visible role, ideal for an experienced regulatory or compliance professional looking to broaden their enterprise impact, gain deep transformation exposure and further develop leadership capability.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coach a small team fostering a high‑performance and continuous improvement culture

  • Provide clear, strategic and commercially pragmatic regulatory advice in a complex and evolving regulatory environment

  • Partner with Retail Transformation to ensure new regulatory obligations are embedded effectively into future designs

  • Support major initiatives including product development, customer communications, campaigns, marketing and sales processes

  • Lead regulator engagement and responses (primarily AER and ESCV), coordinating cross‑functional inputs to deliver high‑quality outcomes within mandatory timeframes

  • Deliver external regulatory reporting and internal compliance reporting to senior and executive stakeholders

  • Drive regulatory simplification — making obligations, risks and controls easy to understand and apply

  • Promote a strong compliance culture where risks, issues and learnings are openly shared

You’ll bring:

  • Strong understanding of energy regulatory frameworks and obligations

  • Proven ability to influence, partner and advise across complex, matrixed environments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level reporting and presentations

  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments

  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to operate confidently in ambiguity

  • A passion for shaping better, simpler and more effective regulatory outcomes

All applications need to be submitted by the closing date: Wednesday 28th Jan
