$17.65 - $26.50POSITION SUMMARY The Patient Access Rep I assists patients during onsite registration, admission and arrival processes across Hospital facilities for scheduled and unscheduled visits in inpatient, emergency and outpatient settings.
1.Performs registration, arrival and check-in functions for patients presenting for services. Collects all necessary patient, demographic and insurance information/documentation to ensure patient is completely registered within the patient management system. May include non-patient registrations such as outreach lab/contract registrations.
2. Performs real-time insurance eligibility and benefits verification for unscheduled/walk-in patients.
3. Performs collections and cashiering functions and refers patients to Financial Counseling where appropriate.
4. Obtains all necessary patient signatures and information following organizational and regulatory requirements.
5. Ensures that all workflows related to hospital collection activities meet department requirements, maximize revenue collection and achieve leading practice levels of performance.
6. Focuses daily on attaining productivity standards, recommending new approaches for enhancing performance, eliminating waste, and increasing productivity when appropriate.
7. Strives for positive patient experiences.
8. Complies with all federal, state and Joint Commission requirements.
9. Adheres to FLOYD organizational policies and procedures for relevant location and job scope.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institute
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1 year of related healthcare or customer service experience
Office equipment and computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
