Compensation: $19.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience

Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital is welcoming a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT, to join our team! We are looking for someone with a strong interest in surgery, hoping to add alternative modalities to their repertoire of conventional medical skills. New grads welcome to apply.

​Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Have completed the required Registered Veterinary Technician Program

  • Interest in alternative modalities preferred

  • Have critical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot (anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, etc.)

  • Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

  • Be confident in your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters and perform venipuncture for blood collections.

  • Be confident in your ability to perform drug calculations and nutritional calculations.

  • Perform basic physical exams by accurately counting heart/pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

  • Understand normal vital parameters
