Job Description:

Role title:  Registered Nurse (Year 1 - 8)

Role type  Max term contract part time (24 hours per week until January 2027)

Department and location:  Xavier 7 North, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst 

Salary:  $74,317.94 - $104,336.27 (pro rata) + super.

About the role 

  • Join a dynamic team at Xavier 7 North, a busy 26-bed acute Medical/Surgical ward specialising in neuroscience, stroke, vascular, and surgical care

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based, and holistic patient care while contributing to a collaborative and patient-focused environment

  • Provide nursing care to individuals, families, and communities across diverse ages and cultural backgrounds

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in partnership with patients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes

  • Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and sound clinical judgment, including coordinating care, making referrals, and appropriately delegating tasks based on team skills and care context

About you 

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice as a registered nurse

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

In this role you will be based at St Vincent’s hospital, Darlinghurst.  

  • A busy inner-city hospital in a beautiful location

  • A place of expert clinical care for at-risk people 

  • Closely partnered with universities & affiliated research institutes, many of which are located on-campus 

  • Centres of excellence include heart & lung transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cancer care, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health, homeless health, drug & alcohol services, and correctional health
