Major Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care & Assessment: Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, create individualized care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes. Involve patients and families in care planning and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Clinical Judgment & Adaptability: Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, adjust care plans as needed, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient-centered care.

  • Safety & Risk Management: Implement strategies to reduce risk, promote safety, and report safety events promptly. Identify potential hazards and assist in corrective actions.

  • Education & Discharge Planning: Assess readiness to learn, tailor education for patients and families, and coordinate discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.

  • Evidence-Based Practice & Compliance: Apply evidence-based standards and regulatory guidelines in all aspects of care.

  • Teamwork & Leadership: Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, delegate appropriately, and foster collaboration within the care team.

  • Ethics & Professionalism: Demonstrate ethical decision-making, respect for peers, and unbiased care delivery. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.

  • Age-Specific Competence: Provide care appropriate to patients’ age and developmental needs, interpreting data to meet individualized requirement

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).


Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.


Experience Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical nursing required - Would consider a newly licensed RN with EMT, Paramedic, ED externship experience


     


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to:
  • lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
  • carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to:
  • push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
  • perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Position requires use of foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
