Registered Nurse Educator
Department: Atrium East Med/Surg Unit - Our Atrium East unit at our Chelsea hospital cares for Medical-Surgical patients. Patient diagnoses can vary from medical such as: COPD, Sepsis, withdrawal, GI bleeds, CHF or Surgical: bariatric, Mastectomy, colorectal surgeries, hernias. This unit has 24 beds and specializes in complex high acuity medical and surgical patients with length of stay from 3-5 days.
Location: Chelsea, MI
Pay: $39.64-53.53 per hour based upon licensed nursing experience + applicable shift premiums (when working afternoons, overnights and weekends)
Position Purpose:
Nursing Educators facilitate staff competency in providing Relationship-Based Care by using adult learning principles, demonstrating interest in and respect for learners, and creating an environment of safety for both patients and colleagues. Nursing Educators work in collaboration with the Education Department and other departments to assess, plan, develop, implement/coordinate and evaluate the learning process and skill acquisition of colleagues, students and instructors of affiliating schools. Collaborative functions include the orientation process, preceptor development and programming, continuing education, staff development, mandatory education, and new product/new process education.
Shift Available: Day Shift
Status Available: Part time, not benefit eligible - 24 hours per pay period - every two weeks
Required Qualifications
BSN in Nursing
Minimum of three years recent nursing experience with increasing responsibility and interest in education, nursing practice and quality.
Current unrestricted Michigan Nursing license.
