Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab
Full Time - 1st Shift (This is a 40-hour position, not a 36-hour position)
The Cath lab is a procedure area that performs minimally invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures: Cath, PCI for STEMI, cardioversion, tilt table testing, and transesophageal echocardiography. A highly skilled, multidisciplinary team is available 24/7 to meet the needs of the community as a chest pain accredited facility for ACS (acute coronary syndrome or acute MI). Patients are scheduled for outpatient procedures as well as urgent and emergent. The cath lab is staffed with registered nurses and radiology technologists.
Job Description:
Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
- Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
- Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
- Completion of
- Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
- ACLS and BLS recognized by American Heart Association within six months of hire date.
- Critical Care Nurse Experience Preferred
