Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Directs patients/student care to include but not limited to: obtaining relevant health and medical history, performing physical exams, identifying health risk factors, and inputting information into electronic health records.
  • Monitors care and suggests ways to provide continuous quality improvement.
  • Applies appropriate policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice.
  • Assists with the developing and reviewing of policies.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team demonstrating knowledge of specific conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies.
  • May develop and coordinate educational related to specific health topics.
  • Sterilizes, assembles and uses medical equipment, and prepares treatment room for patients.
  • Performs routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
  • Assumes clinic and operational related duties as needed.
  • Adheres to and complies with HIPAA.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes, or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Section 210, Florida Administrative Code.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Two years of professional, full-time clinical experience in a physician's office.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in college health, health education, and various clinical backgrounds.
  • Experience with electronic health records.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and environments.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situation when numerous and competing demands are involved.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
