About the Role
The Grade 2 Registered Nurse, practices according to the registered nurse practice standards, as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). The registered nurse is a member of the clinical multidisciplinary team and fulfils their role under the guidance and support of the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate. The Registered Nurse is accountable for their clinical practice, at a level consummate with their experience, currency and educational preparation.
You will need to have experience working within a cancer area or preferably worked on 6 West before. 6 West is a highly specialised ward that requires all nurses to be highly passionate and committed to providing not only evidence based cancer care but also adhering closely to the SVHM values.
You will also need to display an interest in:
- Undertaking our SVHM antineoplastic/chemotherapy administration courses
- Ideally have completed your CVAD and IVC competencies
- Improving your own professional development
- Evidence of being able to work effectively within a team
- Motivation towards further cancer education
Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).

About: 6 West Haematology & Oncology
6 West is a 22 bed ward comprising acute Haematology and Oncology beds. The 6 West team is passionate and dedicated to our cancer patients, whilst upholding a strong and positive working culture and environment. All disciplines of staff are committed to providing the highest quality of care inline with the SVHM values compassion, justice, integrity and excellence. All staff on 6 West are also required to actively participate in their own professional development and self directed learning in order to maintain high quality clinical skills and knowledge.
