Registered Nurse (medical oncology)
GenesisCare have exciting opportunity available for a full-time Registered Nurse to join our supportive and caring oncology team at East Maitland NSW.
As the Registered Nurse you are responsible for providing and co-ordinate best practice oncology nursing services and consistently demonstrate high standards of patient care.
Along with the supportive and motivated multidisciplinary team, you will be part of giving our patients an exceptional treatment experience. You will have opportunities to grow and develop your career with avenues to sub-specialise or even one-day relocate through your access to our large network of locations.
On offer is a part-time position (3 days per week).
More specifically, you will:
Attend to patient assessment.
Assist patients to manage treatment-related side effects.
Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, family and friends.
Provide comprehensive patient education.
Collaborate with Oncologists and the multidisciplinary team.
Liaise with co-located and external medical and nursing staff.
Maintain own professional development and sets goals to address gaps or desired growth.
Maintain patient and organisation confidence by approaching care with attention to clinical handover, teamwork, and integrity.
Contribute to the team effort by assisting with team goals.
Bring a positive, enthusiastic and ‘can-do’ attitude to work.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Experience in medical oncology or a willingness and commitment to be trained in medical oncology
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers.
Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to plan and coordinate the clinical management of care.
Commitment to and involvement in the application of quality improvement and evidence-based practice principles.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
Experience in wound care is desired but not essential.
