We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our St Vincent’s Radiation Oncology team in on a12‑month maximum term - working 3 days a week, with the potential for casual work following the contract. You will be part of a small, supportive nursing team delivering best‑practice radiation oncology nursing care. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in ensuring an exceptional treatment experience for our patients.
While experience in oncology nursing is highly regarded, it is not essential. Our friendly and knowledgeable team will provide comprehensive training. What matters most is that you are motivated to learn, flexible, reliable, and passionate about patient‑centred care. You will bring strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate genuine empathy for patients and their carers.
In this role, you will:
Deliver high‑quality patient care, attending to both physical and psychological needs
Provide direct patient care including education, wound management, and medication administration in line with practice protocols
Effectively manage daily patient flow
Facilitate clear and effective communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, radiation therapists, and allied health professionals
Accurately document, communicate, and act on all patient interactions
Adhere to and support procedures, protocols, and clinical guidelines aligned with best‑practice radiation oncology nursing standards
Ensure medication management and safety protocols are followed
Use the ISBAR communication framework for patient handover and interdisciplinary communication
Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to learning
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Have a minimum of 2 years’ post‑graduate experience (preferred)
Have experience in oncology nursing (desirable but not essential – training will be provided)
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong patient‑centred focus
Possess sound analytical and problem‑solving skills
Are committed to best‑practice care, quality improvement, and NSQHS standards
Show ongoing commitment to professional development
Have experience in wound care management
