About the Role 

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join the team at Eagle Heights Recovery Centre. In this vital role, you will provide specialised withdrawal management (detox) nursing services, including comprehensive clinical assessments, mental and physical health care, and referrals for addiction-specific medical support. You will work in a safe, respectful and culturally appropriate manner, ensuring the immediate physical, emotional and mental-health needs of clients are met in alignment with TSA’s values, mission, and all relevant legislation and clinical guidelines. 

How You Will Make an Impact 

As part of our Withdrawal Management team, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with: 

  • Queensland Alcohol and Drug Withdrawal Clinical Practice Guidelines 

  • NSW Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Clinical Practice Guidelines 

  • Recovery Services Policy and Procedure 

  • TSA policies, procedures, values and mission 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Conducting nursing assessments and providing ongoing support and treatment 

  • Working collaboratively with visiting and onsite medical officers 

  • Administering and dispensing medications in line with clinical guidelines 

  • Managing admissions, discharges, case notes, documentation and shift handovers 

  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, quality care and innovation 

What You Will Bring 

  • Tertiary Nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in alcohol and other drug (AOD) nursing, including work with clients experiencing mental health conditions 

  • Strong knowledge of withdrawal management practices and current clinical guidelines 

  • Proven skills in triage, assessment, decision-making, crisis response and therapeutic nursing interventions 

  • Competence in infection control procedures 

  • (If applicable) Minimum two years in recovery 

  • Strong clinical judgement, assessment capability and understanding of professional nursing standards 

  • Current driver’s licence 

  • A collaborative approach, active participation in team meetings, and commitment to supporting colleagues and fostering a positive team environment 

  • Flexibility to work weekends and overnight shifts
