Job Description:

The Float RN will cross train within a variety of primary care, urgent care, and specialty departments. Will collaborate with the clinic staff, provider teams and other support departments to provide care coordination for patients. Will identify problems, analyze and integrate subjective and objective data, decide on a plan of action, apply the appropriate intervention and evaluate the outcome.

Education Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Execute clinical processes to solve difficult problems to meet patient needs and/or deliver high-quality care to patients
  • Triage incoming calls, maintain in basket messages and MyChart
  • Follow and implement department protocols, policies, and practices
  • Ability to administer medications
  • Responsible for handling prior authorization requests

Educational Requirements:

  • BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of nursing in specialty nursing

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

  • Current license with the appropriate State Board of Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 3 months from date of hire
