Compensation: $147,000 - $219,000 plus bonus potential depending on performance

Work Schedule: Full-time | Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs)

As a Regional Vice President you will… lead a set of operationally different, geographically diverse, and customer-centric sites. The RVP also leads a cross-functional team (CFT) that provides functional support to each Tessera contract site. Tessera’s RVPs are skilled at strategy (e.g., implementing change across their sites), skilled at tactics (e.g., highly involved in contract and labor negotiations; safety leaders), and skilled at people (e.g., leading the cross-functional team as well as their team of site managers). They are ultimately accountable for each site’s performance on a wide number of measures - financial, mission, safety, employee life cycle, customer relations, and employee relations. They are true servant leaders, empowering their team and site managers to innovate for the customer and for the employee. As servant leaders, they also create a culture of accountability that involves feedback, coaching and, if necessary, performance management.

  • Be empowered to deliver world-class service and products to all customers. The RVP will lead a cross functional team of professionals charged with supporting operations for project sites across multiple states that deliver a wide variety of services and products.

  • Fully supports Tessera’s purpose of Providing Opportunities to People with Disabilities. Partners with each Tessera site to achieve and sustain AbilityOne Program requirements.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, mentoring and retention of outstanding Site Managers that deliver on all aspects of Tessera’s performance measures.

  • Drives a world-class safety management system and is accountable for safety culture for all sites within the business unit. Models and promotes a safety mindset and coaches sites to continuously improve their safety performance. Demands safety accountability where safety performance is below expectations.

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with customer contracting staff as well as customer technical representatives. This involves recurring in-person meetings with these customers and includes travel when necessary.

  • Strong employee relations skills including servant leadership, building morale, communication, providing feedback, and conflict resolution. Collaborates closely with CFT HR Partners and the Home Office HR Team for proactively addressing employee relations at the CFT- and site-level.

  • Mentors, motivates and inspires CFT team members and site managers with a positive “can do” attitude

  • Is comfortable and confident interacting with AbilityOne and SourceAmerica executives and staff, if required.

  • Actively participates in the identification, pursuit and acquisition of new projects. Which can involve; briefing prospective customers on Tessera’s performance, understanding contract requirements, development of price proposals, crafting staffing plans, and ensuring subsequent new project meets Tessera’s standards for exceptional performance.

  • Focused on continual process improvement, “balanced excellence” of site performance metrics, and combatting operational complacency.

  • Is an active and contributing member of Tessera’s Executive Steering Group (ESG) including the design, launch and sustainment of company-wide initiatives. Brings the operational perspective to this team and, at the same time, can integrate the perspectives and input of functional group leadership into their strategies.

  • Financial Management – Profit & loss responsibility with combined annual top line revenue up to $150M and 800 employees across assigned contract sites. With the assistance of the Project Accountant and Home Office Finance Team, supports each site on annual budgeting.

  • Contract Management – Familiarity with all contracts, subcontracts, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) within the business unit. In partnership with the Site Manager, able to skillfully negotiate contract renewals with the customer, CBAs, and manage and negotiate subcontractor agreements that maximize employment of people with disabilities.

  • Operational Excellence – supports site leadership in their efforts to achieve superior performance results, e.g., capacity, on-time completion, backlog, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Change Management – is fully involved in the design and implementation of company-wide or site-level change initiatives. Able to explain “the why” to CFT member and site leadership.

  • Risk Management – able to identify, assess and manage risk associated with operations, customer priorities, contracting, subcontractors, employee relations, safety and quality.

  • Responsible for the success of all contracts and site locations assigned, including planning, profitability, resource leveling, production, status reporting, and coordination with employees, customers, Contracting Officers Representative (COR) and outside agencies.

  • Ensures high-level customer satisfaction through relationship management.

  • Through the efforts of CFT members and partnering with Workforce Development and People Departments, responsible for ensuring compliance with all AbilityOne requirements, including workforce ratio, documentation, and compliance with new policies.

  • Models and continuously promotes Tessera’s core values of integrity, inclusion and partnership in service to our purpose, our community impacts, and our humanitarianism.

  • Develops a culture of innovation, collaboration, and informed risk taking. Empowers site leadership to make decisions in response to customers and to take appropriate action to ensure customer satisfaction.

Summary of required skills and experience for the Tessera Regional Vice President:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Logistics, Project Management, Business Management or a related degree.

  • We are looking for a minimum of 8 years of experience in base operational support to include logistics or facility management.

  • A combination of previous experience and education may be considered.

  • Previous leadership and proven management of complex contracts and operations delivering services and products to unique customers.

  • People-focused leadership that achieves results through the efforts of teams and leaders.

  • Customer-focused innovation and support.

  • Leading and/or managing successful safety systems and positive safety cultures.

  • Experience in union environments and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)

  • Experience in Federal or DoD contract management

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
