Regional Vice President Distribution Group Benefits

Reporting to the VP, Distribution for Group Benefits, the Regional Vice President (RVP), Toronto Corporate Accounts plays a critical role in the success of our Group Benefits business. This leader oversees a team of Account Executives and Service Representatives responsible for managing some of the largest corporate clients in Canada and collaborates closely with key Advisor partners.

This RVP drives regional sales performance, oversees and strengthens advisor and client partnerships, and advances our value proposition through strategic leadership, problem solving, and collaboration across the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the strategic planning and overall management of the Toronto Corporate Accounts distribution team, including ownership of advisor and client relationships across the region.

  • Deliver regional sales, persistency and profitability targets through the execution of annual and multi-year sales strategies.

  • Lead, coach and develop Account Executives while working collaboratively with leadership peers to achieve growth objectives.

  • Identify market opportunities and partner with Product and Marketing teams to support business development and product initiatives.

  • Ensure effective sales structures, processes, compensation plans, and expense management to meet or exceed performance targets.

  • Strategically cultivate and expand new and existing advisor relationships to drive long term growth and competitive advantage.

  • Partner closely with Underwriting and Head Office teams to deliver balanced results across growth, profitability, and client retention.

Required Qualifications:

  •  10+ years of progressive experience in group benefits, insurance, or financial services, including senior sales leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large scale sales organizations and delivering results within complex, multi layered environments.

  • Strong background in underwriting, finance, and sales operations.

  • Excellent influencing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive new perspectives while modelling professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.

  • Exceptional leadership with the proven ability to build high-performing teams and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, resourcefulness, and continuous improvement.

  • University degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in the large group benefits market with extensive industry knowledge.

  • Experience developing and executing regional sales strategies tied to measurable business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating across Product, Marketing, Underwriting, and enterprise partners.

  • Completion of industry related designations such as CEBS.
