Manages fleet operations for Circle K’s proprietary fleet. You will be responsible for managing the driver team, fleet, and garage activities. The day-to-day work location may vary as needed due to observations/training and engagement with the wider Circle K Fleet Organization throughout the region.
Essential Functions:
- Operational responsibility for the Hazmat tanker vehicle fleet, drivers, and maintenance.
- Responsible for full compliance with DOT and the Internal Fleet management system and corporate guidelines, and for ensuring ELD hours are compliant with DOT regulations and the working time directives within each state.
- Will proactively manage and take responsibility for Health & Safety issues and ensure legal compliance for Internal Fleet within the Northern Tier Region
- Will oversee day-to-day challenges, including systems, vehicle maintenance, access to sites, adverse weather, and traffic conditions that may require immediate resolution to maintain service integrity.
- Will carry out risk assessments on sites where necessary
- Manage staffing levels to ensure effective resource management of the driver pool
- Responsibility for the hiring of drivers and ensuring that each candidate is trained and fit for the job
- Will ensure that conflicts are handled and resolved as they occur so that every staff member has a productive and healthy work environment.
- Will hold regular one-on-ones and periodic reviews to set goals and develop the team to meet both company and personal targets.
- Attend trainings and seminars to keep up with the best in industry standards
- Adhere to operational KPIs and ensure execution
- Manage the telematics systems to deliver KPIs and overall understanding within the driver fleet
- Will have sole responsibility for the operation and should therefore have on-call responsibility.
- Will focus on continuous improvement of the Northern Tier Fleet operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and highlighting areas of critical concern.
- Mentor, develop, and train the team to meet individual, team, and organizational improvement goals.
- Responsible for the HSSE & P&L performance of the Internal Fleet, including Safety metrics, fleet income, cost, truck and driver utilization, and capture of arbitrage (Best Buy) value, and safety.
- Ensure the fleet is operating safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Coordinate with the distribution planning team in Riga, 3rd-party dispatch, and local management.
- Works closely with project teams to secure compliance with the use of IT systems and tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred. Other combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
- Requires 10 years of experience working with fuel distribution as a driver or manager.
- Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred.
- Requires experience working with TMW or similar dispatch software.
