Description:  

You are the regional representative for all technical aspects within your organization. You are responsible for the technical know-how & expertise within your region, you support and consult service engineers, sales representatives, and customers equally, together with a network of Local Technical Advisors.  

You provide high quality technical support for sales organizations locally and regionally, you consult customers on performance topics, upgrade possibilities, technical challenges, you coordinate upgrade activities, turbocharger modification programs and field tests. You conduct failure investigations, you settle commercial discussions with customers, you collect technical field feedback and suggest product improvements back to headquarters. You ensure high level technical know-how in the service stations of your region by conducting technical training and support for local staff. Position reports to the Country Managing Director (CMD).

 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Technically assist Service Sales organization (coach sales representatives prior to meetings, create and conduct CIACs, participate in important customer events / meetings). 
  • Consult end customers and local representatives of engine builders on upgrade possibilities, system performance and new technical offerings. 
  • Understand customer’s needs and translate into suggestions for product improvements, give structured feedback to HQ. 
  • Conduct failure and warranty investigations of turbochargers, aligned with HQ guidelines and other RTM's practices. 
  • Autonomously lead standard failure investigations, including proposal for commercial warranty decisions. Timely release of investigation reports to customer. 
  • Support & co-ordinate ongoing upgrade projects, turbocharger modification programs and field tests in allocated countries. 
  • Support service engineers, service coordinators, operations & service sales of allocated countries on technical queries (single point of contact for Technical Service Managers and service station in technical matters) 
  • Exchange experiences with other RTMs regularly. 

 

Your background:

  • University degree in marine or mechanical engineering 

  • > 3 years practical working experience with turbochargers or reciprocating engines 

  • Experience with B2B customer contact 

  • Advanced English level C1 (oral and written) 

  • Good interpersonal communication skills 

  • Coaching / managing skills 

  • Proactiveness, willingness to excel"  

  • Solid technical background is compulsory (e.g. application know-how engine-TC) 

  • Customer orientation and ability to handle critical & challenging customer situations
