I can succeed as a Regional Security Specialist at Capital Group
As a member of the Global Safety and Security team, reporting to Capital’s Manager of Regional Security Services, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the global safety and security strategy, adapting it as needed to enhance the safety and security of Capital Group’s business operations within assigned regions. You will work proactively with key stakeholders, leaders, and partners to identify and mitigate safety and security risks that could impact Capital Group’s people, assets, and operations.
This role is fully onsite, based primarily at the Los Angeles Office (LAO), and serves as an embedded member of the Safety & Security team five days per week. You will support operations primarily across LAO, with secondary coverage for LAO West and Irvine as needed. The role requires an early start time (5:00 a.m.) and includes limited domestic travel (less than 10%).

You will deliver on and support Capital Group’s safety and security services programs, including:
Providing security services, supporting events, and mitigating operational security risks within the region.
Serving as an embedded onsite member of the Safety & Security team, providing hands‑on security support five days per week.
Acting as the trusted onsite security lead for sensitive, escalated, or high‑risk situations.
Overseeing and managing security contractors, external relationships, office safety and security operations, and security incident response.
Managing internal casework and investigations related to workplace violence, threats, theft, and fraud cases.
Responding to and managing:
Workplace violence concerns and threat‑related incidents
Employee terminations and emotionally sensitive events
Medical incidents and emergency response situations
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with HR, Workplace Experience, Legal, the Executive Office, and Site Operations.
Supporting executive protection needs in alignment with Global Safety & Security protocols.
Supporting the associate travel security program and partnering with vendors that provide global visibility and intelligence.
Delivering travel safety briefings, conducting risk assessments, and responding to travel‑related concerns that affect associates and senior leaders globally.
Conducting event security risk assessments and providing onsite event support to ensure the safety and security of associates, meeting attendees, and Capital Group’s reputation.
Exercising sound judgment, discretion, and calm decision‑making in high‑pressure scenarios.
Representing Capital Group’s culture, values, and professionalism in all interactions.
Required Skills / Abilities:
You have a minimum of 7+ years in a corporate security role or government role as an analyst, with a focus on executive protection, program management, security operations, travel safety and security, and event/incident monitoring and reporting.
You have federal law enforcement experience.
You have the ability to work on‑call and the willingness to react to emergencies as they occur on a 24/7 basis.
You are experienced in incident response, crisis management, training, workplace violence, and internal investigations, with the ability to maintain control under stressful situations.
You have professional international travel experience.
You maintain knowledge of current and emerging policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the business and security function.
You demonstrate proficiency in security system management, including intermediate system architecture and advanced knowledge of operational functions and security best practices.
You take initiative, prioritize effectively, and problem‑solve with minimal supervision.
You are experienced with open‑source and subscription‑based monitoring tools.
You are an excellent written and verbal communicator and an effective presenter in both group and individual settings.
You demonstrate sound judgment, strong relationship management, and the ability to independently advise on a wide range of issues.
You manage deliverables independently with a high degree of efficiency.
You have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Background in executive protection, law enforcement, or comparable corporate security roles.
Demonstrated experience managing high‑discretion and high‑risk situations.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across functions.
Proven ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
Excellent communication, de‑escalation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
Flexibility to support multiple locations and evolving business needs.
Valid California license to carry a firearm (preferred).

Southern California Base Salary Range: $125,909-$201,454
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
