As a Regional Sales Manager - Commercial, you will be responsible for formulating and executing the business strategy in Canada and are responsible for managing a sales team focused on supporting and growing Simpson’s market share in the commercial construction market segment. You are a hunter by nature and love pursuing new business, with your team and as an individual; you take pride in winning and enjoy prospecting for new opportunities. You will be responsible for increasing market share by increasing specification with strategic influencers, growing wallet share with existing customers, and finding new customers.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Mentor and develop the sales team representatives, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: interviewing, hiring, determining sales salaries and commissions, training, and establishing expectations and goals for territory sales representatives; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance by observing, monitoring and evaluating sales team member performance and progress; coaching, engaging, empowering, retaining, rewarding, and disciplining employees according to their unique interests, strengths and goals; cultivating a spirit of teamwork among members of the sales department and other departments; planning and execution of sales meetings. While performing supervisory responsibilities, the employee must represent the company in the utmost professional manner and in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Be an expert on the Commercial market in Canada. (45%)
Increase market share and customer penetration. Implement and improve prospecting practices within the team, improve lead conversion, develop new customer and new product sales metrics, find opportunities to improve pricing and profitability, uncover new market opportunities, deliver new product ideas. (25%)
Develop and maintain positive relationships with management at key customers by regularly meeting with customers to conduct business reviews and development planning while focusing on promoting Simpson products and services and prospecting for additional product development ideas to service the customer and market. (20%)
Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, the creation and coordination of projects and promotions with other departments, branches, and market segments. Manage sales forecast of products throughout their product life cycle. Create incentive plans to grow all product lines. Represent the company at tradeshows and other industry events. (10%)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This job requires 50% domestic travel. Company vehicle provided.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, exempt position is located in Toronto.

Relocation is not available for this position.
COMPENSATION
$138,500 – $187,200 / year
