This role provides People Partnering support to line managers across Poland and Sweden, providing a complete HR generalist service; covering topics such as hiring, engagement, communications, employee relations, performance management, L&D interventions, talent management, reward and recognition.
The jobholder will manage one People Partner in Poland, based in Wroclaw.
In this job, I am accountable for:
- Provide pragmatic and professional expertise and advice on the full spectrum of HR topics, from hiring and across the employee lifecycle to offboarding
- Work with Talent Acquisition to ensure all recruitment needs for the client group are briefed and managed effectively
- Develop practical people strategies with Line Managers which address business objectives - e.g. recruitment, retention, performance, development
- Work closely with key customers in a partnership capacity; coach and assist Line Managers to understand and effectively implement HR policies, procedures and best practices
- Work with the Learning and Development team to deliver and support learning and development activities relevant to the client base
- Work with the global Shared Service Centre to ensure the effective delivery of transactional HR activities for the client base, ensuring that a high-quality service is provided and SLA targets are met
- Attend and contribute to team meetings both with key customers and within HR; lead and participate in project and working groups on initiatives across both HR and the client base
- Utilise employee data and trend analysis to educate and work in partnership with Line Managers on people issues, eg absence management, attrition rates, retention.

- Monitor the Poland and Sweden Employee Relations landscape, in particular the introduction of legislation that may require a Tech Solutions wide response, and create proposals for recommended actions or initiatives.
- In conjunction with the Health and Safety stream and Line Management, ensure that there are safe working systems, procedures and policies in place at all in-country locations.
- Interpret and advise on relevant current employment legislation
- Deliver, lead and proactively review training requirements for people managers, including workshops.
- Utilise Workday and/ or other systems to maintain employee data.

What skills, experience and qualifications are key to succeeding in this role?
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role in a dynamic business, with overseas HQ
- Strong knowledge of Polish employment legislation and experience applying this, including drafting policies/guidance. Similar knowledge in Sweden is desirable.
- Experience of working in white-collar and blue-collar environments, with Unions and Works Councils
- Experience of working in matrixed operating models and the ability to communicate effectively at all employee levels
- Experience in leading change management projects and delivering through others.
- Strong data mindset, showing an analytical capability to make informed decisions and anticipate business priorities.
- Effective decision maker, able to balance risks, opportunities and bring about support.
- Excellent relationship management and people management skills, with the ability to influence effectively and build constructive working relationships across the business
- Confident decision maker with the ability to work independently
- Strong organisation and delegation skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise, meet deadlines and make best use of limited and remote resources
- PC Literate and knowledge of HR databases and systems
- Willingness and ability to travel to other Ocado locations, especially in Wroclaw and Stockhol, Sweden
- Flexible approach to working hours to support 24/7 business operation, there is a requirement to work flexible hours, including some early starts and late shifts. Also, to work collaboratively with HR colleagues based in the UK and Bulgaria
- Professional HR qualification/certification
