The US Oncology Network is seeking a Regional Marketing Specialist to serve in a consultative, account manager capacity—advising practices within our network of more than 1,400 community-based oncologists nationwide on local marketing strategies to drive patient volumes.

This client-facing role reports to the Senior Director of Practice Growth and Marketing, managing relationships with practices, local marketing teams, physician leaders, vendors and other stakeholders. The Regional Marketing Specialist acts as a trusted advisor, making recommendations, providing strategic guidance, and facilitating the implementation of marketing initiatives, rather than executing campaigns directly.

The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, and to efficiently juggle a workload in the face of shifting priorities and deadlines. Attention to detail is extremely important.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultative partner to practices in the designated region, analyzing local landscapes (referral and patient trends, competitive environment, market/practice dynamics) and recommending tailored marketing growth strategies for each practice.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with practice leadership, liaisons, and local marketers; meet regularly to review growth performance and provide proactive, data-driven marketing consultation.

  • Advise on overall marketing spend and strategy, including media placement costs and vendor negotiations, making recommendations rather than executing purchases.

  • Guide external communications (press releases, feature stories, byline articles), offering strategic input and recommendations to practices and marketing teams.

  • Identify and recommend methods to measure performance and return on investment (ROI) of marketing activities.

  • Project manage design work within The Network template system, collaborating with graphic designers via Workfront to deliver content for practice liaisons and marketers.

  • Advise on a portfolio of marketing services that drive new patient visits (e.g., Reputation Management, brand awareness advertising, digital strategy), focusing on strategy and recommendations rather than direct execution.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills

  • Proven ability to build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, relationship and presentation skills

  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented

  • Strong strategic, analytical, and critical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to plan ahead and prioritize tasks to achieve goals

  • Data-driven decision making with knowledge of marketing analytics such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and social media platforms

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with Workfront, or other project management software

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications

  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to client satisfaction and retention.

  • 3 + years related experience, healthcare preferred

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $79,900 - $133,100
