- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Area Managers to ensure our pharmacies are operating as efficiently & effectively as possible whilst ensuring we are offering great customer experience.
- We need to know our people, it is the RM’s responsibility to ensure the AM’s are close to the teams to understand where there are opportunities, and potential issues ahead that need to be addressed.
- Motivate your teams to deliver the performance withing your region. Conduce regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to Area Mangers.
- Assist the Area Manager team with performance management issues working closely and seeking support from our Human Resources team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and teamwork.
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Deliver the Retail Vision by developing your business plans and strategies and cascade this to your Region.
- Work collaboratively with Departments on key business initiatives, services , products to ensure we enhance opportunities of growth.
- Create a culture of accountability and responsibility
- Set the standard, operational excellence, store presentation.
- Build relationships with local communities, stakeholders, shopping centre management to enhance brand presence and reputation.
- Implement and promote corporate social responsibility initiatives within the region.
Operational Excellence
- Drive Operational Best Practice in your Region. Manage the daily operations within the region, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency, productivity and profitability.
- Ensure that pharmacy management systems and technology are effectively utilised to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Ensure that all pharmacies provide excellent customer service and address any customer complaints or issues effectively.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to drive performance, efficiency, and profitability.
Financial
- End to end P&L accountability for the Region.
- Develop and manage budgets for the region ensuring that each pharmacy operates within its financial means.
- Identify areas for cost reduction and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- All Regional Managers will have specific areas of responsibility i.e. locum management, management of overheads suppliers etc..
Collaboration and Communication
- Maintain open lines of communication with the Retail Lead and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on business goals and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments (eg) Regulatory, Marketing, Commercial to support region initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.
- To work closely with the other Regional Managers to ensure consistency in messaging and communication to store teams on key asks and deliverables
- Prepare and present regular reports on regional performance, challenges and opportunities to the Retail Senior Management Team.
Customer Service Focus
- Champion exceptional customer service across all locations. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and drive customer loyalty.
- Our L&D Team will deliver training to ensure our teams have the tools to deliver great customer service it is the Regional Managers responsibility to ensure this is embedded into their Region.
- Stay informed about market trends , competitor activity and customer needs. Utilise this information to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Key Skills & Experiences
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Area Manager Role, ideally experience in Retail Pharmacy.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide pharmacy teams.
- Proficiency in analysing financial and operational data to make informed decisions
- A solid understanding of pharmacy operations, regulations and best practices.
- Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly
- Understanding of key trends within the supply chain, wholesale, and retail pharmacy sector
- Proven influencing and leadership skills.
- Be a high achiever with determination and drive to succeed.
- Excellent communication, planning, organisation and analytical skills
