Regional Manager, Clinical Documentation Integrity

Summary

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Regional Manager, Clinical Documentation Integrity to join our team! This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN.

Supports day to day operations within Clinical Documentation Integrity across specific facilities within a region of Baptist Health to ensure system goals and objectives are met. Provides direct support to team members daily. Works with the Director to lead the development, implementation and maintenance of standardized policies, procedures and strategies including workflow for Clinical Documentation Integrity within Baptist Health.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs management functions typical of a manager which includes evaluating and mentoring employees, assuring employee compliance, hiring, orienting and training new employees.
  • Monitors productivity, error rates, key performance indicators and payor audit data to identify performance gaps. Recommends and implements effective mechanisms to address opportunities.
  • Facilitate the training and education of the CDI team and assist in the development of educational programs.
  • Maintain an extensive, up to date knowledge of clinical documentation improvement and demonstrate knowledge of the documentation requirements and guidelines in accordance with Coding Clinic.
  • Ensures that accurate and complete clinical documentation information is provided and used for measuring and reporting provider and facility outcomes and key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate training and education to physicians and other advanced practice providers related to clinical documentation integrity including clinical validation of diagnoses final coded.
  • Leads CDI team in developing and implementing process improvement and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid KY or IN licensure as a Registered Nurse required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; in lieu of Bachelor degree; Associate of Nursing with 5+ years in acute healthcare nursing with 3+ years in clinical documentation integrity will be considered.
  • 5+ years in acute healthcare nursing including 2+ years clinical documentation integrity experience.
  • CCDS and/or CDIP
  • Member of ACDIS or AHIMA
  • Knowledge of ICD10-CM coding principles and procedures, DRG assignment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, data entry and data retrieval systems, encoder and Internet research.
