Job Summary
- The Regional HSE Business Partner & Training Coordinator (APAC) is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of training and capability programs across Engineering Operations. ● The role ensures employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to perform their roles effectively, safely, and in line with organisational standards. This includes ownership of the regional training framework, training systems, and competency compliance.
- In addition, the role provides supporting input into health and safety initiatives, with a focus on embedding safety requirements through effective training, coaching, and capability development rather than direct ownership of HSE operations or compliance systems.
Core Purpose
- Lead training and capability development across APAC Engineering Operations
- Identify training needs and implement structured learning solutions
- Ensure training compliance and competency across all roles
- Support HSE outcomes through training, coaching, and awareness
Training & Capability Development
- Conduct training needs analysis across Engineering Operations roles
- Develop and maintain role-based training pathways and competency frameworks
- Maintain the regional Training Matrix to ensure full compliance across all employees
- Design, coordinate, and schedule internal and external training programs
- Assign and track training via the LMS, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
- Deliver training sessions where qualified, particularly in technical and safety-related areas
- Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and relevant
- Act as the central point of contact for all training activities across the region
Learning Systems & Compliance
- Maintain and optimise the LMS, including training records, reporting, and user access
- Ensure all mandatory and role-specific training requirements are completed and auditable
- Monitor training completion rates and escalate risks or gaps
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate training documentation
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessment results, and performance data
- Analyse trends to identify capability gaps and improvement opportunities
- Conduct and/or coordinate workplace safety audits and inspections, with a focus on assessing training effectiveness, competency application, and adherence to safe systems of work
- Use audit outcomes to identify capability gaps and inform training improvements
- Provide coaching and targeted training interventions based on audit findings
- Continuously improve training programs, delivery methods, and systems
- Support the implementation of digital and scalable learning solutions
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Engineering Operations leaders to align training with operational needs
- Collaborate with Global Training and HSE teams to ensure consistency and best practice
- Work cross-functionally with People, Payroll, and site leadership teams
- Coordinate with external training providers where required
HSE Business Partnering
- Support the implementation of safety-related training and awareness programs
- Provide input into training elements of risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Assist in embedding a positive safety culture through capability development
- Contribute to incident learnings by incorporating outcomes into training programs
- Support safety audits and inspections in collaboration with HSE and site leadership teams, with a focus on reinforcing training standards and safe behaviours
- Provide general HSE support and guidance where required, without primary ownership of HSE systems or compliance
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in training coordination, learning & development, or capability building
- Experience managing training systems and competency frameworks
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse training needs and implement structured programs
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent)
- Experience in technical, engineering, or operational environments
- Working knowledge of WHS/OHS requirements (as context for training)
- Experience supporting safety or compliance-based training programs
Travel requirements
This position will require travel from the “home” location to other CFCs and offices within the APAC region. Travel will be situationally dependent based on the following:
- New CFC builds
- CFC retrofit projects
- Request from VP of Global Operations EMEA and APAC
- Request from APAC REODs
- Major H&S issue requiring site presence and may require immediate travel
- Requirement for site visit by Regional HSE Business Partner & Training Coordinator
