Reporting to the Head of Service & Support, as Regional Engineering Manager for the Victoria region, you are responsible for managing the team and the support of our products in a manner that delivers exceptional customer experience. You will, as aligned with Roche Diagnostics local and global priorities strategy, provide a cost effective, customer centric, diagnostic product service and support using our knowledge and expertise from pre-installation to product’s end of life.

What you will be working on:

As the Regional Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for but may not be limited to:

  • Managing the field-engineering team through the proactive daily oversight of all technical activities.
  • Continually reviewing team training requirements to maintain the skill levels necessary for the successful completion of all field operations.
  • Timely pre-installation inspection and installation of Roche systems and other analytical instrumentation.
  • Ensuring all preventative maintenance is carried out promptly and in strict accordance with quality standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Rapidly communicating any ongoing instrument issues to the appropriate stakeholders, including the Head of Service & Support, Account Managers, Marketing, and the manufacturer.
  • Managing Spare Parts and ensuring the absolute accuracy of Boot Stock inventory.
  • Routinely scheduling and meeting with customers in your region to measure performance and provide them with a platform for feedback and requests.
  • Providing direct field-engineering support when required, including repairs, modifications, relocations, and routine technical work.
  • Setting engineer goals, supporting personal development, and conducting quarterly check-ins to review performance and provide coaching feedback.

  • An Electrical or electronic tertiary or equivalent qualification, coupled with substantial field service engineering experience
  • Experience within Diagnostic & Research Laboratories businesses is highly desirable
  • Strong people management experience and demonstrated leadership skills to effectively guide a technical team.
  • Experience with IT and Middleware systems, which is considered a desirable asset for this role.
  • Basic financial and business management experience to support operational decision-making.
  • Strong organisational and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • The ability to represent the company externally and build meaningful relationships with relevant stakeholders to support long-term sustainability.
  • The enthusiasm to lead, a hunger to learn, and a commitment to driving excellence in the customer experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required by the demands of the position.
  • A forward-thinking mindset, enabling you to navigate change and drive continuous improvement within the service department.
  • The ability to communicate in a concise, clear manner to support expeditious decision-making while fostering collaborative relationships and an exchange of ideas among colleagues.
  • A valid driver’s license, which is essential for this field-based leadership role.

This Melbourne-based 12 Months max-term role is only open to candidates that have full eligibility to live and work in Australia.
