As the Regional Director for a Hub, they will be responsible for defining, executing, and scaling EBANX’s business across the key markets of the region. You will be the P&L owner for the region, leading cross-functional market development initiatives, driving local partnerships, securing regulatory approvals, supporting the commercial activities to acquire high-value merchants, and ensuring operational excellence. The role requires a strong balance of strategic vision, business acumen, regulatory fluency, and local execution capability to achieve sustainable growth and profitability. In addition to that, the Regional Director will be the leadership reference for the ebankers who live in the Hub, independently of their functions, promoting the right culture, collaboration, and result-oriented environment.

 

You will also be responsible for

 

  • Define and execute the market entry and growth strategy for prioritized countries within the region.

  • Conduct in-depth market assessments and ensure alignment with EBANX’s global strategy.

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic partnerships with banks, payment processors, PSPs, and regulatory bodies.

  • Develop clear competitive positioning and go-to-market strategies tailored to each local market.

  • Leverage EBANX’s scale and market presence to negotiate with local providers, ensuring competitive processing costs.

  • Monitor regulatory, commercial, and payments landscape developments and provide relevant market intelligence to support strategic decisions.

  • Act as the primary point of contact with local regulators, ensuring operations are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Partner with the Regulatory and Compliance teams to oversee licensing processes and implement risk mitigation frameworks aligned with global standards.

  • Collaborate closely with Commercial leadership to accelerate market growth and support merchant acquisition strategies.

  • Provide local market insights to support commercial initiatives with existing merchants and prospects.

  • Build and nurture executive relationships with regional leaders from strategic accounts in coordination with Commercial leadership.

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing regional team across Product, Operations, Treasury, Legal, Regulatory, and Partnerships.

  • Represent EBANX in industry forums, panels, and events to strengthen brand presence and credibility in the region.

  • Ensure strong cross-functional alignment with Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams to deliver scalable and compliant payment solutions.

  • Provide structured feedback and insights from the region to inform product development and strategic priorities.

  • Support the successful launch and operational enablement of EBANX in priority markets within agreed timelines.

  • Drive revenue growth and profitability, ensuring sustainable unit economics and efficient processing cost management.



Main requirements for this position

  • Proven experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or related industries.

  • Strong experience in market expansion, partnerships, or regional leadership roles.

  • Solid understanding of regulatory environments and compliance requirements in financial services.

  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and complex regional operations.

  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to drive revenue growth and strategic partnerships.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with regulators, financial institutions, and senior executives.

  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities in fast-paced environments.

  • Fluent English communication skills.

 

 

Nice to have

  • Experience working in emerging markets or high-growth regions.

  • Strong network with local financial institutions, regulators, or payment ecosystem players.

  • Experience participating in industry associations, regulatory discussions, or public forums related to payments.

  • Experience leading regional expansion initiatives or launching operations in new markets.

  • Knowledge of cross-border payments, acquiring, and alternative payment methods ecosystems.
